About 1st Impressions

1st Impressions is a brand new Community Interest Organisation which was originally set up to serve the BANES community in 2021.

Our co-founder, Jane Ellis-Brush, has a passion about supporting women. She also has years of experience in the corporate world and a wardrobe of pre-loved items to share, so created 1st Impressions to make a difference in her community.

Since then, the team has grown, we’ve been able to support more clients, and we have found our own boutique space to invite clients to, at Fairfield House, Kelston, Bath. Through pop-up boutiques we are helping women throughout the South-West and South Wales.

Vision

A world where all women have equal opportunities at interview.

Mission

We make a positive impact on all women wanting to work by helping them to create confident first impressions at interview. We provide a tailored service, focused on improving individuals’ confidence through wardrobe selection and interview coaching: Leaving the candidate looking good, feeling confident and ready to impress.

Values

When you work with 1st Impressions, we promise that we will be honest, that we will be authentic, that we will think about our environmental impact and that we will treat everyone we work with equally.

Karina Zabihi

Director

Growing up exposed to two cultures, British and Persian, has always made Karina seek out the path less travelled. Her career reflects this, as at various times she has worked as an interpreter, teacher, journalist, radio presenter and producer, film writer and director, interior architect and fashion designer. She has always been happy to seek out new experiences, different environments and to challenge the norms and she jumped at the chance to work with 1st Impressions.
